The Designer

Justin Yap has spent nearly two decades shaping a distinctly Malaysian vision of modern luxury. Since graduating in 2006, he has built a reputation for sculptural tailoring, poetic textures, and an instinctive understanding of how fabric moves, drapes, and empowers.
After his early run at KLFW (2014–2018), Yap became a fixture at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Kuala Lumpur from 2019 onward—a partnership that mirrors his brand’s polish and design maturity. His collections are defined by hybrid details, sharp yet fluid silhouettes, and his coveted jacquards, often bonded and engineered like wearable architecture.
Color is always his starting point; texture is his language. From tweeds paired with paillettes to silk-blend pieces that glide like liquid, Yap’s work balances contrast with ease. Each piece is designed for the “RealWay”—runway-worthy but rooted in wearability and craftsmanship.
His latest 28-look collection, described as “poetical, truthful, and eternal,” reflects a new clarity in his design voice: strong shoulders, genderless tailoring, and modernized oriental motifs woven into his signature fabrics.
Beyond his own brand, Yap is a vocal advocate for Malaysia’s fashion future, calling for deeper investment in talent, craftsmanship, and global visibility. Through every collection, he aims to create pieces that make the wearer feel seen, powerful, and unmistakably part of the world he’s building—one sharp silhouette at a time.
